All's not well in Arizona

The Diamondbacks are still a 1000 tickets short of selling out Chase Field for Game 1 of the National League Championship Series.

Excuses galore have been thrown out there. A stadium that's too large, a team too new to create a loyal fanbase, a city filled with baseball fans of other teams, and even a bad start time for game one. But when it comes down to it the lack of a sell out is flat out embarrassing. Rumors even surfaced that washed up rock star Alice Cooper will buy the remaining tickets if the D'Backs fail to sell out by game time.

But Mark Grace said it best on Cold Pizza Wednesday Morning.

"Let me tell you about Arizona fans. They don't show up for anything. It's the same in all sports. Now if they're giving away a bobblehead or shooting off some fireworks-- Arizona Diamondbacks announcer Mark Grace

Can you say D-League:

Chris (C-Ro) Rodgers is playing in Belgium by the way.

And finally...

From Bill Simmons mailbag:

SG: I would never hold it against someone for being loyal to their favorite team. Only two types of sports fans truly bother me:

1. Bandwagon jumpers.
2. Sports bigamists.

I couldn't agree more.
